It is 1927 and life is good for Jimmy Winters. He arrives at his beach house on Long Island USA for a peaceful honeymoon with his lovely wife Constance.
His adoring fans the Cottontails have made everything ready for them, flowers are arranged and the bedroom perfumed.
However, unbeknownst to him his honeymoon retreat has been commandeered by the famous bootlegger Shorty McGee and his Gang, to stash away their illegal booze in the cellar.
Problems multiply for Jimmy, his new wife flounces off to a hotel, his old flame Kay arrives to win back Jimmys love, and Shorty disastrously tries to help. Can everything be happily resolved?
It’s frothy, it’s fun, it’s everything expected from a Twenties musical.
With great songs by the Gershwins and a book by the centuries greatest humourist, P.G. Wodehouse, Oh Kay is the perfect antidote to a grey winters evening!
Our cast includes Shelley Clempson as Kay, Martin Leigh as Jimmy and Phil Cory as Shorty McGee, with other Gallery Players favourites in strong support.
